GOSPEL outfit The Unveiled, has begun the year on a high note, promising a powerful run in 2026 following their collaboration with multi-award-winning South Africa-based musician Canaan Nyathi, on a highly spirit-filled track titled, Ngcwele.
The song, released a week ago, was composed and written by The Unveiled founder and director, Joshua Mtima. It was recorded live in Bulawayo, where the group headlined a sold-out show in November last year.
Mtima described the track as a proclamation piece, one that declares God as an immortal figure worthy of praise. He said the creative journey from concept to completion was both challenging and rewarding.
“I wrote the song with the intention of honouring the Almighty for the great works and miracles He has done in our lives. It’s a song that sings the praises of Him, as we say Hallelujah to the powerful God, Who has the power to move mountains.
“The creative process was very interesting. I had to write the song and verify the lyrics with my Ndebele friends to check if it was correct.
“On creating the type of genre we would deliver the song in, the band did an amazing job as they understood the assignment and presented a splendid job that made the song smooth and appreciative as it is,” said Mtima.
He described Canaan Nyathi as a unique talent, capable of adapting to any setting as long as the goal is to praise and worship God.
“Working with Nyathi was a bit challenging, because of language differences. As a Ndebele speaking person, Nyathi guided us accordingly to find the proper way to announce the words to perfection.
“He is a thorough, and at the same time funny person who enjoys working in an environment that is filled with joy and laughter.
“He surely made the creation of this song much easier, as his talent is overwhelming and flexible to be used in different situations,” he said.
Canaan Nyathi said his frequent visits to Harare paved the way for the collaboration.

“Mtima and I know each other, as we are very close brothers in the Ministry.
“For this particular project to come to fruition, he approached me while I was in Harare for business, and I was open to working with The Unveiled because they are an amazing group.
“Their sound is unique and such a quality and creativity, made it easy for us to grasp the concept of the song and be on the same page, as we did all this with much ease,” said Nyathi.
He added that the message of the song resonates deeply with him because it centres on giving God the highest praise.
“God has the power to heal the sick, and I have seen him manifesting in my life. I sang with all my heart in this song because the Lord has been good to me and he deserves all the honour and praise,” said Nyathi.
Meanwhile, Mtima said The Unveiled is preparing for a live recording that will feature surprise gospel artistes from Zimbabwe and beyond.
The album is expected to be released in April.
