Theft under the cover of night: Woman arrested for stealing from parked car

A 24-year-old Bulawayo woman on Thursday appeared before the courts accused of stealing a Samsung S24 and US$1410 cash outside a local club.

Musawenkosi Ncube of Mzilikazi suburb appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Mr Takudzwa Gwazemba charged with theft.

Ncube allegedly broke into Mr Simiso Ndebele’s car in the company of two accomplices and stole his property valued at US$2210.

Ncube was granted US$200 bail and will appear in court on September 12 alongside her accomplice Kudzai Chikwanha.

According to the prosecutor Ms Sibusisiwe Sithole, Ncube and her accomplices broke into Mr Ndebele’s car while he was asleep outside the club on August 21 at around 2AM.

Mr Ndebele had parked his car and fallen asleep without locking the doors after a night out.

She said that Ncube who was in the company of Chikwanha and another who is still at large hatched a plan to break into Mr Ndebele’s car and stole his Samsung S24 and cash amounting to US$1410 and ran away.
