THIEVES BREAK INTO MWOS BETTING SHOP, STEAL US$3,690

THIEVES broke into a MWOS betting shop on Tuesday night and stole some valuables and US$3,690 cash at Machipisa in Highfield.

MWOS manager, William Sigauke, 40, found out on Wednesday morning that some thieves had broken into the shop.

The thieves used an unknown object to break the door and removed the CCTV server, alarm and motion sensors, which were on the wall.

They blasted the cash safe, stole the money and fled from the scene.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the case. “Police are investigating an unlawful entry and theft case at a betting shop in Highfield.

“Preliminary investigations showed that the suspects used super power emulsion explosives to blast the safe.  Also a satchel with a hammer, chisel, 2 by 90 super power emulsion were recovered from the scene,” he said.
