Afro-Jazz sensation Tiae is turning the page to an exciting new era in his music journey with the release of his nine-track album, Ithuba, which drops globally on all major digital platforms today.
Born Tiambiwi Shoko in Zamanyoni, Kezi, the gifted singer-songwriter has poured his soul into the project, blending authentic storytelling, rich Afro-Jazz rhythms, and emotive melodies to craft a personal body of work.
Produced in partnership with SoMuch Music, Ithuba, meaning opportunity, symbolises both a creative rebirth for Tiae and his bold ambition to showcase the essence of Zimbabwean music to audiences worldwide.
The album features standout tracks including Izilingo, Phenduka, and Ngithethelele, each offering an intimate look into Tiae’s life experiences, cultural heritage, and musical evolution.
Speaking to Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, an elated Tiae described Ithuba as a milestone in his artistic journey.
“I’m grateful to SoMuch Music for giving me this opportunity. Ithuba is my chance to share my story, my roots, and my heart with the world. Every song is deeply personal, and I hope it inspires, connects, and heals. This album is a new chapter for me, and I can’t wait for everyone to experience it.”
SoMuch Music director Dumisani Gumpo hailed Tiae as a rare talent with the potential to make a global impact.
“Tiae is phenomenal. We recognised his gift immediately and knew we had to work with him. At SoMuch Music, we don’t just record artistes, we develop them. Some songs on Ithuba were originally written by me in the 1980s, and reimagining them with Tiae has been incredible.

Gumpo added that SoMuch Music is deliberately building a focused roster to nurture exceptional talent.
