VETERAN actor, Zebron Kazani, who rose to fame through roles in various local drama series, has lost his sight.
This is now affecting his ability to produce more projects.
Kazani, who is also a producer, says he has been struggling with his eyesight, which he says has derailed the release of many productions.
He is now pleading with his avid followers and well-wishers to assist him raise US$2,000, which is needed for the treatment of his eyes.
He said he has developed cataracts, which involve clouding on the eye’s natural lens.
“I am now struggling to see.
“I have turned blind, I can hardly see and my productions have now been affected because I am the one who edits the projects.
“I am working on a drama series, ‘Zvazviri’, which I wrote, but it’s now hard for me since my eyesight has deteriorated.
“My eyesight is now poor that I can no longer write properly, and I can only use voices to tell who is talking to me,” he said.
Kazani said he is now moving around with his daughter for assistance.
“I am even moving around with my daughter.
“Sometimes, I struggle to navigate some places, even when I have serious meetings, my daughter will even abandon going to school.”
He said the arts industry has failed to remunerate properly but he hopes the funding already put in place by ZBC will help him benefit and get his eyes treated.
“This is a boost and it will help me get my eyes treated.
“I am pleading with my followers and well-wishers to kindly assist me so that I continue to fend for my family.”
Kazani said the problem started four years ago but efforts to raise funds have not been successful.
“In previous years, I was still managing, but things have been getting worse. I am now in need of an operation.
“I am working on different projects, which I want to take to different TV stations.
“My wife and children are trying their best to edit the productions, but the workload is overwhelming.”
Kazani rose to fame playing supporting roles in series such as NdiGringo Chete, Nzuda, Vana Avo, Zuku, Togara Sei, Toita Sei, Akanga Nyimo Avangarara, Nyara among others.
