A MESSY battle between two women, who are in a love triangle which also features prominent Harare business executive, Dr David Madzikanda, has slipped into court amid sensational accusations of witchcraft.
Mutseriwa Madzikanda says she is one of the wives of the business executive and is embroiled in a bitter wrangle with her former tenant, Millicent Murape, who has been having a love affair with Dr Madzikanda.
Mutseriwa has now dragged Millicent to court accusing her of cyberbullying after the two women traded witchcraft accusations.
Millicent is also facing allegations of malicious damage to property.
She appeared before Harare magistrate Lisa Mutendereki yesterday.
The allegations are that on July 5, last year, at around 9 pm, Mutseriwa received abusive WhatsApp messages from Millicent’s phone number.
The following day, according to the court documents, Millicent allegedly sent more abusive text messages via WhatsApp.
On both occasions, Mutseriwa did not reply.
Murape is also accused of using stones to break window panes at Mutseriwa’s house.
Millicent was a tenant at Mutseriwa’s house before she started dating Dr Madzikanda.
Mutseriwa claims Millicent, in her abusive messages, allegedly claimed she was now transforming from a tenant and taking over as Dr Madzikanda’s wife.
She claims Millicent allegedly boasted in her messages that she would soon become the boss and landlady at the property.
Mutseriwa told the court that Millicent also accused her of bewitching her, when she was pregnant, by allegedly placing some juju on her doorstep so that she would suffer a miscarriage.
“This woman (Murape) is our lodger and now my husband’s girlfriend. She insulted me on WhatsApp and also broke my property’ windows,” Mutseriwa told the court.
“She accused me of bewitching her by saying that l placed a charm on her doorsteps so that she would miscarry her pregnancy (and lose) Dr Madzikanda’s child,” Mutseriwa said.
Mutseriwa told the court that when she went to Millicent’s apartment, to ask her about the messages she had sent her on WhatsApp, she found Dr Madzikanda inside Millicent’s apartment.
She claimed she was made to wait outside for about an hour.
She told court that Dr Madzikanda has four other wives.
She said she reported Millicent to the police not because she was jealousy of her romantic affairs with her husband but because she wanted to protect herself.
“I know Murape had her husband and l was surprised to see my husband Dr Madzikanda inside her room in the middle of the day when he was supposed to be at work.
“I waited at the door for one hour and when they came out l tried to talk to them but they refused to talk.
“Later, l took a peace order against Murape and, after the expiry of the peace order, she sent me another message.”
When prosecutor Polite Chikiwa asked her if she was jealousy of Millicent’s relationship with Dr Madzikanda, Mutseriwa said she had absolutely no problem with that.
“I cannot have problem with Dr Madzikanda sleeping with some people’s wives, his problem is that he is searching for a son as he only has daughters.
“Murape used to call my husband while she was with her husband because she didn’t want to pay rent.
“I am surprised why she want to sleep with a 65-year-old man when there are many men of her age.”
Millicent told court that they were both girlfriends of Dr Madzikanda.
She told court that Mutseriwa allegedly used to stalk her.
She also accused Mutseriwa of calling her a prostitute simply because she was jealousy of her relationship with Dr Madzikanda.
She denied ever throwing a stone at Millicent’s house, which broke one of her window panes.
The matter was postponed to next week where Dr Madzikanda is expected to testify in court.
