TOP COP TUMBLES ZRP fires assistant inspector over unruly conduct

THE law has snapped back at one of its own after the Zimbabwe Republic Police booted out Assistant Inspector Simbarashe Mandizvidza for behaving like a loose cannon while in uniform.

In a hard-hitting statement, national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed that Mandizvidza is officially out of the system.

Mandizvidza made headlines in August after telling all Chinese nationals to leave Zimbabwe and claimed to be the new police chief.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police informs the public that Simbarashe Mandizvidza is no longer a member of the Police Service,” he said.

Mandizvidza’s downfall was triggered by his shocking behaviour in mid-August.

“Mandizvidza, who improperly conducted himself and acted in an unbecoming manner on 13th and 14th August 2025, was discharged on 03rd December 2025 after duly constituted and appropriate administrative procedures were effected,” the statement read.

The police command is steaming and has no room for rouge officers dragging the badge through the mud. Commissioner Nyathi made it clear that the top brass will strike fast against any cop who loses the plot.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police reiterates that the Commissioner General of Police does not condone criminal acts and unruly conduct by police officers. He will therefore not hesitate to institute the relevant disciplinary procedures according to the provisions of the Police Act.”

With the axe now fallen, Mandizvidza joins the long list of ex-officers who learned the hard way that the badge comes with rules, discipline and consequences.
