LOS ANGELES. – Trevor Noah’s final show as host of the Grammy Awards has already generated global headlines, not least because it drew the ire of President Donald Trump.
But, according to a leading PR expert, the South African comedian bowed out on a “high note” marked by “precision.”
The 41-year-old comedian hosted the 68th Grammys for his sixth and final consecutive year on Sunday.
Public relations expert Grayce McCormick of Lightfinder Public Relations told Mirror US that Noah “took his final Grammy bow at the very peak.”
“Hosting the Grammys six times is a notable achievement, and in his final outing, Trevor’s greatest strength was his trust in both the room and himself.
“He was confident and delivered clever without ever crossing into cynicism. That subtle balance is rare, and he mastered it. His notable moments were all about precision.”
Trevor joked:
“The last time Lauryn Hill performed at the Grammys was in 1999 — back in 1999 the president had a sex scandal, people thought computers were going to destroy the world, and Diddy was arrested. Boy how times have changed!”
At one point, he sat next to Bad Bunny, who won Album of the Year, and asked him:
“If things keep getting worse in America, can I come live with you in Puerto Rico?”
Bad Bunny replied, “Trevor… I have some news for you… Puerto Rico is ‘part of America.”
