TYMON MACHOPE has been ruled out of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after he was released from the Warriors squad due to injury.
The Scottland forward was one of the prospects heavily expected to be integrated into new coach Marian “Mario” Marinica’s “fast and very fast” philosophy.
But he won’t be on the plane to Morocco for the December 21 to January 18 jamboree after ZIFA confirmed he had been released from camp due to injury.
He, together with Highlanders mainstay Andrew Mbeba and Chicken Inn captain Xolani Ndlovu, have become the first batch to be dropped as Marinica continues to assess potential players for the massive Morocco mission.
In a statement, ZIFA said; “The Zimbabwe Warriors’ Technical Department confirms that three players have been officially released from camp following medical assessments which ruled them out due to injury:
- Tymone Machope
- Xolani Ndlovu
- Andrew Mbeba
“Their release is a precautionary measure to protect their long-term fitness. We thank them for their professionalism and wish them a swift recovery.”
