SPECIAL Investments Presidential Adviser, Paul Tungwarara, has urged Zimbabweans in the diaspora to invest back home to boost the confidence to foreign investors to also invest in this country.
Tungwarara was awarded the Overall Investor Award at the Africa Investment Leaders Forum and Awards on Friday.
He was honoured for his tireless efforts in promoting investment in the country.
“Today I am excited that I have won the Overall Investor Award and this is due to the contribution I made in Zimbabwe in bringing foreign investors into the country.
“So, it is my call to those in the Diaspora to come and invest in the country so that we can also give confidence to foreigners who may want to come and invest here in Zimbabwe.
“If we don’t have confidence in our country, no one will have hence nyika inovakwa nevene vayo.”
Dr Martha Namundjebo, from Namibia, said:
“We are happy to be part of those who won at the Africa Investment Leaders Forum and Awards 2024 here in Zimbabwe.
“I was first impressed when I arrived at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport, the infrastructure is good.
“So, I am interested in investing in Zimbabwe, especially in the agriculture sector and in the hospitality industry. This is a good destination for investment.”
Africa Investment Leaders Forum aims to bring together top investors, policymakers, industry leaders and key stakeholders from across the African continent and the world.
It also serves as a platform for sharing insights, fostering collaboration and honouring exemplary contributions to the field of investment.
