UAE assists the vulnerable in Zim

THE United Arab Emirates (UAE) Government says it is committed to assisting the vulnerable in Zimbabwe to complement the strong bilateral relations that exist between the two countries.

This was said by UAE Deputy Ambassador Rashid Al Shamsi when he launched the distribution of the first batch of food aid in Victoria Falls.

This is part of a broader humanitarian effort involving 17 000 mealie meal packages to be delivered in phases to support vulnerable families across Zimbabwe.

A total of 6 000 bags of mealie meal were distributed in the first phase, benefitting more than 1 000 families from surrounding communities.

Deputy Ambassador Al Shamsi said their offer is a reflection of the UAE’s ongoing commitment to supporting the people of Zimbabwe.

“The government and people of the United Arab Emirates are providing essential food assistance to families in need. This is a symbol of the friendship and care shared between our two nations,” said Deputy Ambassador Al Shamsi.
