SONGWRITER and fashionista Ulenni Okandlovu will take centre stage at his first solo concert “Take Over The City Live.”
The event will be headlined by Ulenni alongside his newly-launched live project, Southern Hemis Co., with powerful guest performances from Kyla Black and Tinofireyi Zhou.
Organisers say that it will be a boundary-pushing musical experience.
“TOTC live is the first of its kind — a platform dedicated to promoting alternative and experimental sounds while offering music and art enthusiasts a premium, high-quality experience,” said Ulenni.
“From the best sound equipment and engineers to a carefully curated venue and atmosphere — every detail is designed to offer an unforgettable experience rooted in creativity, connection and quality performance.
“I’m super excited to launch TOTC Live and Southern Hemis Co. at the same time.
“It’s something I’ve been working on over the past year, and we’re currently in the studio with some incredibly talented artists who will form part of the Southern Hemis Co. collective.
“Fans and art enthusiasts alike can expect an evening of captivating music, stunning visuals and inspiring storytelling.
“My passion for my craft is infectious and my dedication is to showcase Zimbabwean culture.”
Ulenni is the co-founder and lead vocalist of Zimbabwean band Bantu Spaceship and also serves as the creative director and founder of Skeyi & Fabrik Party — a cultural platform known for genre-defying artistic experiences.
His artistic style seamlessly blends traditional and modern elements, creating a distinctive aesthetic that is both captivating and thought-provoking.
Tinofireyi Zhou is an experimental DJ who crafts immersive analogue and digital sets blending dub, bossa nova, hip-hop, R&B, Afro-rock, Afrobeat and rare global sounds.
Kyla Black is a talented singer, songwriter and producer who is celebrated for her soulful, R&B-infused experimental music and visually compelling performances.
