FEBRUARY is universally recognised as the Month of Love, prompting couples across the nation to go above and beyond the usual to pamper their beloved partners.
This is done in an effort to show affection, and it is done in different ways that make spouses and partners feel loved and appreciated.To honour the month, and what is brings, two musicians from different backgrounds came together for a collaboration their first collaboration.
Each year, around this time, music is an essential component as lovers celebrate their love for each other, family, and friends. American musician and songwriter, Michael “MJ828” Johnson, has released his Valentine’s offering.
It features Natasha Muz.
Titled “With You” MJ828 said the project was inspired by the need to remind people of the power of genuine connection. In an interview with Zimpapers, MJ828 said the song arrives at a time when couples, families and friends around the world celebrate love in all its forms.
“Love is the pillar of any home or household even outside our marriages and relationships.
“As human beings we are obligated to love and appreciate each other.
“Yes of course, love is the most powerful force in the universe, no matter what, never go against because you will lose.
“This song is a reminder that we all have a heart and due heartbreaks and betrayals many have forgotten they even have one. The song has a chill vibe and is very direct ,I love you from the core and I want the world to know it,” he said.
MJ828 said the song aims to reconnect listeners with their emotions.
Speaking about the collaboration, MJ828 said he first found out about Natasha Muz while in the studio recording.
“I first heard Natasha Muz while recording, a mutual friend introduced me to her music, instantly I was a fan.
“To cut a long story short, a FaceTime call was arranged and we just clicked, it’s difficult to explain, the whole convo was music and planning, the rest is history.”
MJ828 revealed that working with Natasha Muz has strengthened his desire to explore Africa musically and culturally.
“A new door has opened throughout the African music scene, a country I’ve always dreamed of visiting now I have big reasons to book a flight.
“The goal is to work with as many African artists as possible so if your reading this let’s work,” he said.
In the run up to Valentine’s Day, artists like Master H have already released their Valentines gifts. He released “Impossible.”
Holy Ten, on his instagram page, announced that he will also be releasing music for the lovers. Xiba also came through with “Lalala,” featuring Jnr Spragga and Calvin Mangena.
