SALO. – Jamie Vardy’s Italian villa was reportedly raided by a gang of robbers who stole jewellery and watches worth £80,000.
The former England striker and his wife Rebekah share the villa overlooking the picturesque Lake Garda in northern Italy.
Vardy lives in a luxurious £2m villa in the historic city of Salo – and the footie star and his wife have been spotted out and around having dinner.
He moved into the villa – which has a beautiful view of the famous lake – after signing for Italian top-flight newcomers Cremonese.
But a thug reportedly broke into his house through a window before stealing jewellery, cash and other high-value objects – including a Patek Philippe.
They are said to have orchestrated the raid while Vardy was in Rome playing in his side’s 3-1 defeat on Sunday.
A police source told Daily Mail:
“We think the gang have been watching him and his family and timed the break-in to coincide when he was away in Rome.”
Another police source said: “We have CCTV which shows the individuals entering the house through a window that was left open.
“They were on the premises for several minutes before escaping with the watch and several other high-value items.
‘‘There was a woman inside, not his wife but the babysitter.”
Vardy moved to Salo and bought the lavish Villa earlier in the summer. – The Sun
