IN Zimbabwe’s vibrant gospel scene, a new force is emerging, and they are impossible to ignore
Vocal Base Choir, a young and dynamic ensemble, has been turning heads with their energy, precision, and innovative stagecraft.
Though relatively new on the scene, their disciplined harmonies and choreographed performances mark them as a choir to watch.
Again in a country where gospel choirs such as Zimpraise Choir, The Unveiled Choir, and Joyfull Praise Choir have established legacies, Vocal Base is carving out its own space.
Their performances combine youthful vitality with professionalism, demonstrating that they are more than just newcomers and they are serious about their craft.
The choir’s recent appearances have showcased impressive energy sequencing and choreography.
Each number is carefully structured to build momentum and maintain audience engagement.
Whether performing upbeat praise songs or reflective worship pieces, their movements complement the music, creating an immersive experience that connects both visually and spiritually.
“We are thrilled to be stepping into a space alongside so many talented artists,” said Takudzwa Muzari, coordinator and spokesperson for Vocal Base Choir.
“Being part of events like the Great God Tour gave us a platform to share our energy and passion. Performing in front of audiences who truly engage with the music was exhilarating.”
Muzari said while Vocal Base is ambitious, they remain grounded and respectful of the gospel traditions that came before them:
“We are not in competition with other choirs — we have deep respect for our predecessors like Zimpraise and The Unveiled Choir.
“Our focus is on building our own base and contributing something fresh and exciting to gospel music. What’s next for us is recording new material, expanding our choreography, and reaching audiences across Zimbabwe and beyond.”
