Vice President Dr Constantino Chiwenga will visit Binga and Hwange today as he continues his tour of Matabeleland North Province to assess high-impact economic projects.

The tour is part of Government’s efforts to give impetus to various development projects.

Today, Dr Chiwenga will tour Bulawayo Kraal in Binga and Kamativi Lithium Mine in Hwange.

Kamativi Mine, once a major tin producer, has been transformed into a key player in the lithium sector after President Mnangagwa commissioned it in 2023, thereby significantly impacting local employment and community development.

Bulawayo Kraal is a large-scale agricultural project aimed at boosting food security and creating jobs in Matabeleland North province.

It draws water from the Zambezi River and is planned to cover 400 hectares, with crops such as maize and sorghum.

The Vice President is accompanied by Matabeleland North Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Cde Richard Moyo; Industry and Commerce Deputy Minister Raj Modi; and Deputy Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Engineer Amos Marawa, among other senior Government officials.
