VICE-PRESIDENT Kembo Mohadi is expected to commission Mberengwa District Hospital at Mberengwa Centre this morning, following a US$4 million refurbishment and modernisation project funded by Mimosa Mining Company.
The upgraded facility is expected to bring essential medical services closer to more than 50 000 people, improving access to healthcare for communities in Mberengwa and surrounding areas.

Equipped with modern medical equipment and specialised infrastructure, the hospital is expected to strengthen maternal and child healthcare, improve emergency response and reduce the need for patients to travel to Zvishavane and Gweru for essential medical services.
The investment includes a modern outpatient department, maternity wing, operating theatre and male and female wards.
The project highlights private-sector investment in healthcare infrastructure in support of Government efforts to improve service delivery and narrow the gap in access to medical services between rural and urban communities.
