Gospel musician Vusa Mangena is hoping to clinch his first Bulawayo Arts Awards (BAA) trophy after earning a second nomination in the ceremony scheduled for December 20.

Mangena is nominated in the Outstanding Gospel Artiste category, where he will compete with fellow artistes Snowy and Harvest Music. The singer described his second nomination as a blessing for his career.

“This is my second nomination for BAA. I was nominated in the last BAAs and did not win. This nomination means a lot to me after the effort we put in as a team to produce good music for our city and our country. It feels good to be recognised, and it motivates me to work harder.

“I really feel honoured, looking at all the talented people in this category. To be nominated among them is humbling,” said Mangena.

The gospel artiste said winning the award would mark a significant milestone for his brand.
“My work has changed a lot of people’s lives, given hope, healed, and kept people entertained with quality local gospel music. Winning this will be my greatest achievement in my music journey because it will be my first award since I started making music,” he said.
