AUSTRIA-BASED Zimbabwean musician, songwriter, music producer and cultural activist Vusa Mkhaya has described his upcoming honorary recognition at the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards (ZAA) Global Awards 2026 as a celebration of Zimbabwe’s rich cultural heritage rather than a personal achievement.
The internationally acclaimed artiste is among this year’s distinguished Honouraries to be recognised at the awards ceremony, which will be held in Harare on August 8.
The accolade acknowledges his exceptional contribution to music, arts and cultural preservation, as well as his unwavering commitment to promoting Zimbabwean heritage on the global stage.
For Mkhaya, whose career has stretched across more than three decades, the recognition represents another milestone in a remarkable journey that began in Bulawayo’s Tshabalala Township and has since taken Zimbabwean music to audiences across the world.
