THE Bulawayo Corporate Social Soccer League delivered another thrilling round of fixtures, with early title contenders tightening their grip at the top. At the same time, pressure intensified on struggling sides at the bottom.
After a high-energy Week Three, Warehouse Distributors and Chibuku have emerged as the teams to beat, both maintaining perfect records and setting the early pace, tied at nine points at the top.
Warehouse Distributors continued their flawless run with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Rydings Auto. They have scored nine goals in three outings.
Chibuku remain firmly in pursuit after edging Evergold by the same score line. Their ability to grind out results, even without high-scoring performances, has become a defining feature of their 2026 season campaign.
Hope FC are quickly becoming one of the most exciting sides in the league, thanks to their attacking brilliance. Their emphatic 3-1 win over ZETDC pushed their goal tally to 11.
Speed Shipping finally found victory, defeating NUST Stars 2-1 in a crucial away victory at Gwabalanda grounds. The win lifts them into contention and signals a return to form after an inconsistent start, while NUST Stars will be looking to regroup after the setback.
Elsewhere, several tightly contested fixtures ended in draws. Millennium and Value Gas shared the spoils in an entertaining 2-2 encounter, allowing Value Gas to remain unbeaten and within reach of the leaders.
Proton and Ostrich also settled for a 2-2 draw, while Lonestar and Zimtile played out a goalless stalemate in a match dominated by defensive discipline.
At the bottom of the table, the situation is becoming increasingly concerning. Rydings Auto remain without a point.
Evergold’s struggles continue as they have just amassed one point. Log anchors Coca-Cola are also off to a difficult start, conceding 11 goals in just two outings, while Grills FC and Overnight are yet to get off the mark this season.
Bulawayo Social Soccer League chairman Timothy Mandizadza highlighted the balance emerging across the table, noting that no position is secure at this stage of the season.
“While we have teams setting the pace at the top, it is still very early and the gap between teams can quickly change. We expect more surprises as the season progresses, especially from sides still finding their rhythm.
“While it is still early in the season, a clear pattern is beginning to emerge. The top sides are combining consistency with defensive strength, while others are struggling to find both form and momentum,” said Mandizadza.
