Warriors coach Marinica reveals main target in Bafana Bafana clash

Warriors coach Marian Marinica has revealed his main target ahead of the national team’s decisive Group B match against South Africa on Monday.

Zimbabwe will face their neighbours in a winner-takes-all encounter, with both sides chasing automatic qualification for the knockout stages of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The national team is currently third in the group with one point, while Bafana Bafana sit second with three points.

Speaking to the media, Marinica said the focus is to collect maximum points from the match and secure qualification for the knockout stages.

“We need a win in our last match in order for us to qualify to the next round, so that is where our focus is now at.

“There is no negotiation; we must win that match. That is where our focus is now at. Our mission is simple — we want to try and progress beyond the group stages and that is still possible,” said Marinica.

Kick-off for the match is scheduled for 6pm CAT.
