INzwananzi Primary School in Gwabalanda has been flooded following heavy rains that pounded the city from Monday morning, raising the possibility of the suspension of classes.

The Bulawayo Fire Brigade is on the ground assessing the situation at the school, where water has inundated parts of the premises due to the persistent downpour.

Authorities are evaluating the extent of the flooding and the safety of learners and staff, with a decision on whether classes will be suspended expected after the assessment.

The heavy rains, which began in the morning, affected several parts of the city, with residents reporting waterlogged roads and drainage systems struggling to cope with the volume of rainfall.

Further updates are expected as the assessment continues.
