A further five kilometres of the rehabilitated Bulawayo–Victoria Falls Road has been opened to traffic by Masimba Holdings, one of the contractors working on the critical highway linking the southern parts of the country to the resort town.

So far, a total of 45 kilometres of the highway rehabilitated by various contractors has been opened to traffic.

Government awarded eight contractors tenders to upgrade the busy corridor. The over 440-kilometre road rehabilitation project is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

Masimba Holdings project manager for the Bulawayo–Victoria Falls Road, Mr Blessing Nhau, said the company remains on course to meet its targets.

“We are still within our target of completing our allocated 50 kilometres by the end of the year, and we expect to open another five kilometres to traffic by the end of this month,” said Mr Nhau.
