Monday

Zimbabwe has been named the world’s best country to visit this year by Forbes magazine, a renowned global publication.

This comes at a time when the country continues to increase its appeal as a premium international tourist destination.

Zimbabwe’s tourism sector continues to defy global headwinds, recording over 1,6 million international tourist arrivals in 2024 and generating US$1,2 billion in receipts and US$190,5 million in investments, according to a Government report released in September.

Tuesday

President Mnangagwa and his South African counterpart President Cyril Ramaphosa on Monday mourned 43 people who perished in a Harare-bound cross-border bus accident in Makhado town, 100km before the Beitbridge Border Post. This came as President Mnangagwa called for the harmonisation of road traffic regulations enforcement within the SADC region and collaboration to curb the recurrence of fatal accidents involving public transport.

Wednesday

The 22nd ZANU PF Annual National People’s Conference must recalibrate all cadres to deepen their appreciation of the party’s purpose as a mass movement that is implementing programmes and projects to serve the interests of Zimbabweans for shared prosperity, President Mnangagwa has said. The President said this at the party’s headquarters in Harare on Tuesday while delivering a keynote address during the 388th Ordinary Session of the Politburo.

Thursday

The Civil Protection Unit, working in coordination with the Zimbabwe and Malawi embassies in South Africa, has identified 30 Zimbabweans and six Malawians among the 43 people who died when a DNC bus was involved in an accident in Limpopo province on Sunday.

Friday

Thousands of ZANU PF delegates from across the country have converged in Mutare for the party’s 22nd Annual National People’s Conference, which President Mnangagwa will officially open today. The week-long indaba, which began with the President chairing the Politburo and Central Committee meetings in Harare on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, is set to conclude tomorrow.
