Over 35 000 households have been added to the national grid since the beginning of the year, while electrification of the country’s clinics has reached 94 percent as the Second Republic continues to deliver on its promise to achieve universal energy access.
This also comes as the electrification drive has resulted in 69 percent of primary schools and 82 percent of secondary schools now having access to electricity, with Powertel set to provide internet services to all schools connected to the national grid.

Dutch billionaire and investor Mr Marcel Boekhoorn met President Mnangagwa at State House in Harare yesterday to present ambitious plans for expanding his operations in Zimbabwe.
Mr Boekhoorn, the founder of Ramphastos Investments, is already a key player on the local market through his ownership of the Canterbury mining operation in Shamva.
Wednesday
Zimbabwe and Angola are set to cooperate in agriculture, with Luanda expected to benefit from Harare’s agricultural model, which has seen the country achieve self-sufficiency in crops such as wheat.
In an interview with Zimbabwean journalists here yesterday, President Mnangagwa, who was in Angola for the country’s 50th independence anniversary, said talks will ensue soon between the two countries on how Zimbabwe can assist Angola’s agriculture sector in a mutually beneficial way.

Africa’s wealthiest man Mr Aliko Dangote has commended President Mnangagwa’s economic reforms, saying they have spurred economic growth, underpinned by a stable and conducive environment for investment.
His endorsement followed the signing of a broad agreement with the Zimbabwean Government, outlining his group’s interest in the energy, cement, fertiliser and infrastructure sectors.
Friday
Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema is scheduled to arrive today for his maiden State visit at the invitation of President Mnangagwa. During his State visit, the two Heads of State will co-chair the inaugural session of the Zambia-Zimbabwe Bi-National Commission (BNC) in Harare today.
