Zimbabwe is edging closer to introducing Lenacapavir, a groundbreaking long-acting injectable pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), set for rollout next year. Healthcare workers are already undergoing training to support its smooth integration into the national HIV programme. The twice-a-year injection is expected to boost prevention efforts.

President Mnangagwa has urged global decision-makers to fully involve African nations on issues directly affecting the continent. Speaking at the 7th African Union-European union Summit on Monday, he warned against trends undermining multi lateralism and emphasised the need to strengthen the United Nations to correct long-standing global imbalances. The President is attending the summit alongside senior Government officials.
Wednesday
Traffic police nationwide have started undergoing training on newly acquired breathalysers set for deployment during the coming festive season. Over 100 devices were recently handed to the Zimbabwe Republic Police, marking a major shift towards technology-driven road safety enforcement. The equipment will be distributed across all provinces in preparation for the high-travel holiday period.
Thursday
President Mnangagwa on Wednesday presented five pick-ups to young people with disabilities as part of broader efforts to promote inclusive national development. Each beneficiary also received 10 wheelchairs for use in their communities. Musician Greatman (Tongai Gwaze), fellow artiste Chipo Muchegwa and Bulawayo beautician Michelle Madawu were among those honoured for their achievements and contributions.

President Mnangagwa says the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2) will drive the delivery of efficient, people-centred services and help propel Zimbabwe towards upper middle-income status by 2030. Launching the economic blueprint at State House, he said NDS2 builds on gains from NDS1 and reflects unity, shared responsibility and the national ethos “Nyika inovakwa, inotongwa, inonamatigwa nevene vayo/Ilizwe lakhiwa, libuswe, likhulekelwe ngabanikazi balo”.
