WHAT really happened to Frank Siziba, a nurse whose decomposing body was found yesterday – THREE weeks after he went missing?

The body was found by his relatives in the belly of Musingwizi River.

He used to work as a senior nurse at Matibi Mission Hospital in Mwenezi,

Siziba was 64,

Masvingo provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa, said Siziba’s body was found about 5kms from a crossing point along the river.

“The body will be taken for post-mortem to try and establish the cause of death,” said Insp Dhewa.

“But, we suspect that he might have drowned while trying to cross the flooded Musingwizi River about three weeks ago.”

He has been missing since March 6.

A search party, comprising his relatives, stumbled upon his decomposing body, which was stuck in the roots of a tree in the middle of Musingwizi River.

Siziba left home on the night of March 6 saying he was following his wife, who had gone for overnight church prayers in the area.

When his wife returned, and was advised that her husband had not returned after following her the previous night, a missing person report was filed at Matibi Police Station, on March 7.

This resulted in a spirited search for Siziba which went on for three weeks.

It culminated in the recovery of his remains in the belly of the still waters in Musingwizi River.
