A 21-YEAR-OLD woman from Bulawayo became a whirlwind of fury after allegedly pouring beer on her boyfriend’s face upon discovering flirty messages between him and another woman.
Thembelihle Moyo from Mahatshula North lived up to the city’s moniker komfazi utshayindoda (where women beat up men) with a thorough assault on Norman Moyo.
She pleaded guilty to physical abuse before Bulawayo Magistrate Patience Madondo and was remanded in custody to April 27
Prosecutor Joseph Rugara told the court that on October 4, 2025, around 2 PM, at Sompisi Shops in Mahatshula North, Thembelihle poured beer on Norman Moyo’s face and struck him on the head with a brick after she found inappropriate messages on his phone.
Thembelihle explained to the court that this was not the first time she had discovered such messages on Norman’s cellphone.
She admitted to having seen them before, but this time, she couldn’t take it any longer, having given Norman many chances to fix the situation.
Norman reported the incident, leading to Thembelihle’s arrest.
A medical report is still pending.
