HARARE is bracing for a night of high-octane shows this weekend with Zimdancehall heavyweight, Winky D’s Tête-à-Tête concert at Alex Sports Club on Saturday, being the headline act.
The Dancehall Sting Cup Clash is also set for the weekend.
Heavyweight musician Jah Prayzah will bring the curtain down at the 113th edition of Zimbabwe Agricultural Society.
Popular radio personality KVG and entertainer Merciless will host Winky D’s Tête-à-Tête concert.
Joining Winky D on stage will be a diverse mix of dancehall and hip-hop talent, including rising star Nisha Ts.
Also billed to perform are Bling 4, Saintfloew, Killer T, Bazooker and Chillmaster.
The last Sting Cup Clash took place in 2014, with a legendary lyrical war between the late Soul Jah Love and Seh Calaz.
This year’s Sting battles include Silent Kilent vs Blot, a long-awaited clash that has failed to explode in previous years but is finally happening.
Khonangale will battle it out with Mad Viper while Kadiki King Alpha and Ngwere Diki will battle against each other.
In a post, DJ Fantan described the third edition as “the biggest Sting Cup Clash yet.”
Season One had just 35 participants and Season Three drew over 250 artists on the first day of registration alone.
Traditionally, the event starts at 6pm but due to the overwhelming number of registered performers, this year’s edition will get underway at midday.
