A SEX-PREDATOR from Vumbachikwe Mine will spend the next 17 years behind bars after the Gwanda Magistrates Court convicted her of aggravated indecent assault on a four-year-old boy.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the woman raped the boy on several occasions.
The shocking abuse happened in late November 2025 when the 43-year-old woman took advantage of the child, who was living at her property as a tenant. The crime only came to light after the traumatised minor tried to imitate the act with his seven-year-old brother.
Their horrified mother, assisted by a neighbour, questioned the child, who revealed that the landlady had abused him on more than one occasion.
Police were immediately alerted and the suspect was arrested without delay. A medical examination was carried out on the minor and the results were produced in court, sealing the woman’s fate.
Aggravated indecent assault is among the most serious crimes under Zimbabwean law. The NPAZ has once again sent a clear warning that those who prey on children will face the full wrath of the law.
Parents and guardians have been urged to stay alert and actively protect children from predators hiding in plain sight.
