THE woman behind #HakunaMukadziAkashata, Dorcas Nyikadzino, continues to redefine her dedication to empowering women through confidence-boosting initiatives.
The entrepreneur’s work is grounded in sustainable growth and community development.
She was recently named one of the 100 Leading Women Investors in Africa at the Africa Investment Leaders Forum and Awards 2026.
This recognition coincides with Women’s Month, which celebrates women’s achievements.
A beauty expert and founder of Ice & Dee Glowing Store, Nyikadzino was rewarded for her efforts to revolutionise the beauty landscape and for her profound commitment to restoring confidence among women.
“As we celebrate Women’s Month, this is a remarkable journey.
“I feel honoured by this award, it means a lot in my desire to empower fellow women.
“This stands as a powerful reminder of what women can achieve,” she said.
From her humble beginnings, Nyikadzino has transformed her vision into a thriving beauty powerhouse with ten branches in Zimbabwe and an international presence in Tanzania, South Africa, the UK, and Australia.
“True to my motto, no woman is ugly.
“My journey has been marked by challenges, yet the encouragement from my clients and loved ones has been tremendously uplifting.
“There is no ugly woman, this emphasises my commitment to empowering women through confidence-boosting beauty products.
“We continue to provide opportunities to other women, especially the vulnerable,” she said.
Nyikadzino added:
“Moreover, I prioritise women’s empowerment in my business, employing a workforce that is 90 percent female.
“I also engage in charitable initiatives, donating to street children and the elderly, and I plan to contribute to local schools in my rural community.
“I grew up in rural Hurungwe, where life was a relentless struggle.
“We fought for basics, including uniforms, and grappling with exam fees was a constant battle. “The first time I ever boarded a bus was after my Ordinary Level exams,” she said.
After securing a job in Harare, fate dealt her an unfortunate hand when she was unceremoniously dismissed, which sparked a burning desire to start something of her own for self-sustenance.
“The unwarranted job dismissal prompted a turning point for me. She is a mother of three.
