ZANU PF Women’s League members have been challenged to come up with practical resolutions ahead of the forthcoming 23rd National People’s conference slated for Mashonaland West Province.
Addressing Women’s League executive members yesterday, secretary for Women Affairs, Cde Mabel Chinomona, said preparations for the league’s resolutions must start in earnest.
“We must start preparations for inter-district meetings ahead of the 23rd National People’s Conference slated for Chinhoyi. We need accurate reports which detail the number of people who benefited from the empowerment initiatives as well as recruitment of new voters,” she said.
Cde Chinomona urged members to come up with new resolutions and take stock of the previous ones.
She said members should lead by example in their respective provinces guided by the party constitution.
The meeting received reports from all provinces and reviewed the implementation of women’s affairs resolutions from the 22nd National Annual People’s conference and deliberated on preparations of the upcoming conference.
Cde Chinomona said the enactment of Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment Act Number 3 is victory for the party as all provinces played a part towards mobilisation.
She commended the Women’s League for supporting the Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Bill which is now law.
“All provinces vigorously campaigned and mobilised for the Bill.
“We celebrate the new act which addresses the wishes of the people, all provinces mobilised and it was because of your effort that we have this victory.
“Who doesn’t want a seven-year break from elections? So as women, let us be exemplary in everything we do, the strength of the league is in unity,” she said.
The President and First Secretary of Zanu PF, Cde Mnangagwa is expected to address the Women’s League Executive meeting today.
