ZANU PF programmes must continue to be people-centred, developmental, practical and impactful to bolster the party’s mobilisation capacity and improve citizens’ quality of life, President Mnangagwa has said.
Addressing the 396th Ordinary Session of the Politburo this afternoon, Cde Mnangagwa – who is the party’s First Secretary and President – said ZANU PF must continue to adapt and evolve in line with broader social and political dynamics and the changing needs of the people.
“As the entire leadership of the party, we will never allow our rich history to be distorted, our values to be diluted or the gains of our revolution to be surrendered or reversed. ZANU PF is and shall forever remain the principal custodian of our rich liberation heritage,” said President Mnangagwa.
He commended the party’s structures across the provinces for convening successful Inter-District and Provincial Coordinating Committee meetings in preparation for the 23rd National People’s Conference, which will be held in Mashonaland West Province.
President Mnangagwa also urged party leadership to remain guided by the revolutionary ethos and values that have sustained the ruling party.
“I urge all of us to remain guided by the revolutionary ethos and values that have sustained our party. Let us continue to exercise collective leadership and uphold the correct line of the party, always working together in unity as we build our motherland, Zimbabwe, brick by brick, step by step, and stone upon stone,” he emphasised.
