Zanu-PF Women’s League emerges as pillar of party strength ahead of 2030 Agenda

THE Zanu-PF Women’s League yesterday reaffirmed its unwavering support to the party and pledged to continue working tirelessly towards building a prosperous Zimbabwe.

Chinomona said the Women’s League is up to the task in driving the national agenda of becoming an upper-middle-income economy by 2030.

“We are using the fishers of men to reach out to women in every ward by giving them skills and opening opportunities for them. No woman should be left behind, but they should be part of the national development,” said Cde Chinomona

Women, she said are receiving tools and equipment needed to start their own business.
A number of women are into chicken rearing, pig farming, cattle fattening while some doing driving lessons through President Mnangagwa’s initiatives.

The league has established a fishers of men initiative meant to mobilise more women to join the party.
“It is the duty of everyone to work towards the development of the country,” she said

She commended President Mnangagwa for opening opportunities for women
“As women, if we are empowered, we can stand on our own, if the woman of the house is lazy, the whole house will be in disarray; but if she is active, the house will be well kempt. We assure the President that everything is in order,” said Cde Chinomona.

She commended President Mnangagwa for uplifting women in a number of ways.
“At every turn, you have put women at the centre of national development,” she said.

Vice-President General (Retired) Dr Constantino Chiwenga said the Second Republic is committed to empowering women.

“You (the Women’s League) are expected to be the backbone of our party Zanu-PF.
“The Women’s League should be exemplary leaders and champions who continue to inspire and mentor the next generation,” he said.

VP Chiwenga said the launch of the women’s fund is a clarion call to deepen unity in the ruling party and beyond.
“You should serve with humility, listen with empathy and act fairly.

“Embrace resilience and prioritise service,” said the Vice- President.
Vice-President Kembo Mohadi said President Mnangagwa has demonstrated his commitment to uplifting the lives of women across the country.

“The President has elevated this occasion to a national statement of intent,” he said.
VP Mohadi commended the leadership of the Women’s League for hosting a successful launch.

“The results are clear for all of us to see,” said the Vice-President.

He implored beneficiaries to put to good use the implements that have been provided to them.
Zanu-PF National chairman Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, expressed gratitude to President Mnangagwa for supporting women programmes.

‘’You demonstrate your traits of a listening leader. You walk to talk,” said Cde Muchinguri-Kashiri.
She commended Cde Chinomona and her executive for mobilising women from grassroots to join the party .

“Women are step fast foot soldiers who can spearhead developmental programmes, empowering a woman is empowering the nation.”

Harare Provincial Minister Charles Tawengwa commended President Mnangagwa for ensuring the establishment of the women’s fund.

He said the fund will make women active players in the country’s economic development.
“We witness yet another birth of a transformative initiative, an instrument that will open doors of opportunities for countless women across the country,” said Minister Tawengwa.

“Each initiative strengthens our foundation and empowers women to play pivotal roles in society,” he said.
Minister Tawengwa thanked President Mnangagwa for his unwavering commitment to Zanu-PF and the people of Zimbabwe.

The launch was attended by more than 5 000 women drawn from party districts.
