Smile Cash, a partner of ZB Bank that promotes the bank’s mobile money wallet, today hosted a public roadshow event in Plumtree, engaging directly with clients.
The activity targeted Dingumuzi Shopping Centre and the Central Business District (CBD), where passers-by were seen registering for banking services via their mobile phones.
Mr Precious Guyo, the Marketing Director for the organisation, said he and his team aim to achieve a countrywide outreach.
He stated that the service does not require a bank account, only a phone number, though having an account is an added advantage.
“This is our first time in Plumtree. We are here because we have partnered with ZB Bank, which operates in every town and city in Zimbabwe. We will conduct a dual roadshow in Plumtree, starting at Dingumuzi Shopping Centre and later moving to the CBD,” said Guyo.
He further explained that the platform can be accessed directly by diasporans, or through One Money, O’Mari, EcoCash, and other mobile banking services.
