A Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation licence Inspector on Monday lost more than US$7000 to thieves.

Tinashe Mushore, 30, reported for duty and discovered that the door to his office had been forced open using an unknown object.

Upon entering he noticed that the desktop computer had been stolen.

He then checked inside the cardboard box they use to store cash in the office and realised that approximately US$7000 had been stolen.

Mushore knocked off duty on Saturday and left everything intact.

He took the office keys with him over the weekend and on Sunday he was off duty.

The case was reported at Mbare Police Station under RRB6543655.

One of the security officers interviewed said he only noticed some drops of liquid substance in the passage early in the morning when he visited the toilet but did not notice that the premises had been broken into.
