ZDF takes Covid-19 vaccination to Wedza

The Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) targets to vaccinate over 5 000 people in Wedza in a bid to help the ongoing vaccination programme ahead of the Defence Forces Day celebrations next week.

In the month of August every year, the ZDF runs Community Assistance Week before the Defence Forces Day, during which it embarks on selected projects where the force will be carrying out various activities.

Speaking during a tour of Wedza Rural District Hospital, Commander 2 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Mpulaeng Siziba, said the medical team has deployed in a bid to reach remote areas.

“Our medical staff deployed all over in a bid to reach remote areas, we have received 5 500 vaccines to vaccinate people in Wedza,” he said.

Speaking at the same occasion, District Medical Officer Dr Herbert Bandiki expressed gratitude towards the hand extended by the Zimbabwe Defence Forces through vaccinating people.
