ZIFA slashes gate charges for Warriors, Highlanders clash

THE Zimbabwe Football Association has reduced gate charges for the Warriors’ exhibition match against Highlanders FC set for Wednesday at Barbourfields Stadium.

The country’s football mother body announced a US$1 ticket for all school-going children who will be in uniform as part of efforts to promote inclusivity.

Rest of the ground tickets are now pegged at US$3, down from the initial US$5 announced when the match was first publicised.

Access to the Grand Stands (Wings) will cost US$5, while the VIP End stands are going for US$10.

“In line with our commitment to grassroots inclusion, school children will be admitted at a subsidised rate of US$1, subject to being in full school uniform,” reads part of the Zifa statement.

“For crowd management and safety optimisation, this category will be designated seating exclusively in the Mpilo End.”

The match forms part of Highlanders’ centenary celebrations.

“We call upon the football fraternity and the nation at large to be part of this landmark occasion, as the Warriors take to the pitch in honour of Highlanders’ centenary milestone, a celebration of legacy, pride, and an enduring contribution to Zimbabwean football.”
