ZIFA warn PSL clubs on match-fixing

Zimpapers Sports Club

PSL chairman Isaiah Mpfurutsa says the league will not ignore allegations of corruption levelled against some clubs, but called for formal complaints and concrete evidence before investigations can start.

He was commenting after accusations and counter-accusations over alleged match manipulation and an attempt at it.

“As an elite league, we don’t tolerate manipulation of matches; we don’t tolerate corruption,” Mpfurutsa said.

“What we encourage is fair play.”

He urged aggrieved parties to follow established procedures and submit evidence to the relevant authori-ties. The PSL statements also come at a time when the Zimbabwe Football Association is said to have warned all 18 clubs, reminding them to uphold integrity to protect the domestic game.
