Zim athletes brace for World Athletics Cross Country Championships

ZIMBABWE’S representatives at the World Athletics Cross Country Championships are set to depart for United States this Wednesday ahead of the meet scheduled for Saturday.

The National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe are fielding seven athletes in the seniors and junior’s categories.

The event is scheduled for Tallahassee, Florida, US.

National champions – Godwin Katakura and Caroline Mhandu will lead the team.

Katakura will be joined by Wayne Kabondo and US-based Bradley Makuvire in the senior men’s 10km.

Mhandu and Answer Tasara are up for the women’s 10km.

For the junior men’s 8km and junior women’s 6km, Zimbabwe will be represented by Jackson Nyamazana and Tulange Mudenda respectively.

Team:

Senior Men: Godwin Katakura, Wayne Kabondo, Bradley Makuvire.

Junior Men: Jackson Nyamazana.

Senior Women: Caroline Mhandu, Answer Tasara.

Junior Women: Tulange Mudenda
