AS British supergroup Coldplay resumed their Music of the Spheres World Tour in the early hours of this morning in Canada, hip-hop star Shone and DJ TatendaLXA were back on their record-breaking global adventure.
The Music of the Spheres World Tour, which has sold over 10 million tickets, will be held at Rogers Stadium today, tomorrow, Friday and Saturday.
In an interview with Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, Shone said he was excited to be part of the tour again.
“It is super true that I will be performing once again on the tour and we are excited.
“It’s going to be an honour to be performing in Toronto with Coldplay and I am so proud to be representing with my brother Tatenda,” he said.
Rogers Stadium has a capacity of fifty thousand.
It’s the largest open air venue in Canada which hosts artists like Coldplay, Black Pink, Posier, ro name but a few. Shone has been part of the supporting acts since the tour spilled into Australia and New Zealand last year and then rolled into the United Arab Emirates.
By the end of the Indian tour, Shone had played at all the five shows in Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
Coldplay have been changing their supporting acts at regular intervals since the Music of the Spheres World Tour started at San Jose’s Estadio Nacional in Costa Rica on March 18, 2022. The record-breaking Music of the Spheres World Tour will be at Gillette Stadium on July 15-16 and Shone has not yet confirmed if he will be performing.
Coldplay will return to the home of the New England Patriots and Revolution for the first time since 2017, marking their third and fourth overall performances at the venue.
Since kicking off in March 2022, the Music of the Spheres World Tour has sold over 10 million tickets across Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, making it the all-time highest attended tour by a group.
The tour has received rave reviews from fans and critics alike, picking up accolades including Favourite Touring Artist at the 2022 AMAs and Tour of The Year at the 2023 iHeartRadio Awards.
