Zimbabwean creative Takudzwa Kahwiti Duncan has made the nation proud after winning the Young Achievers Award at the Pride of Africa Asia-Pacific Awards 2025, held on June 28 in Beijing, China.

Duncan, who was nominated in two categories, walked away with the prestigious accolade, distinguishing himself among nominees from more than 22 countries across the Asia-Pacific region.

Now in its 12th edition, the Pride of Africa Asia-Pacific Awards celebrate the achievements of Africans and their global partners in sectors like diplomacy, business, arts, youth development, and media.

Duncan described the win as a milestone for Zimbabwean creatives working internationally. “Honestly, it feels so great to be recognised on such a global stage. It also means that our creative works as Zimbabweans across borders are at par with global standards and our impact is not going unnoticed,” he told this reporter.

The event, which featured over 28 categories, highlighted outstanding contributions from across the region, emphasising African excellence abroad. In recent years, it has also incorporated online ceremonies due to travel constraints, and each edition focuses on a specific regional theme.

Duncan’s recognition is being celebrated across Zimbabwe as an inspiration to many young creatives striving for international visibility and validation.
