ZIMPAPERS, the country’s largest diversified media house, was among top winners at the 116th Zimbabwe Agricultural Show, after winning the best media, publishing and communication exhibit (promoting Brand Zimbabwe) award yesterday.
Econet Wireless Zimbabwe was the biggest winner after clinching the Gold winner’s award and best ICT and telecommunications exhibit at the awards ceremony presided over by President Mnangagwa.
Geo Pomona Waste Management was awarded the best environmental conservation and land use exhibit, while Dairibord Zimbabwe was awarded the best agricultural value addition and beneficiation exhibit.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Mechanisation and Water Resources Development won the best overall stand design and visitor engagement and the best Ministry exhibit awards, while Men BelievED clinched the best affiliate stand.
UNISA won the best regional/international exhibit, while Council of Social Workers Zimbabwe was awarded the best first-time commercial exhibit.
SeedCo Zimbabwe was awarded the best garden display, with the Science and Industrial Research and Development Centre (SIRDC) getting the best agricultural research and digital innovation exhibit, while the University of Zimbabwe won the best education, skills development exhibit.
Tongaat Hulett Zimbabwe won the best agro-processing and food systems transformation exhibit, while Mimosa Mining Company got the best mining value addition exhibit. The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe scooped the best Government department exhibit award.
The Public Service Commission got the best parastatal award, while the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services emerged as the best security services exhibit.
The City of Bulawayo won the best local authority exhibit.
Young Women4ED were awarded the best local enterprise development exhibit, while CABS won the best financial services exhibit.
The Rural Electrification Agency was accorded the best energy and power sector exhibit, while the Traffic Safety Council won the best transport and connectivity exhibit.
Mr Antony Charehwa was awarded the best cotton grower of the year, Ms Rhoda Shoko the best female cotton grower of the year and Mr Josphat Joe the best youth cotton grower of the year.
Mr Tafirei Ndlovu was accorded the tobacco grower of the year award, while Tsando Muchadura was the overall agri-produce winner and Penikati Mangwada the commercial maize winner.
Ms Faith Panganayi was the Pfumvudza winner, Mr Stephen Ndiyaba the small stock winner, Nyanga Nyamahumba the best Village Business Unit and Dr Divine Ndhlukula the overall best livestock winner.
TelOne won the best ICT infrastructure award, while Helcraw Water got the best affordable housing and urban development exhibit and the Ministry of Health and Child Care got the best healthcare exhibit.
ZANU PF was accorded the best climate-smart agriculture exhibit, the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority took the best tourism and hospitality exhibit, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade was the best international trade and investment exhibit.
