$10 000 stolen property recovered

He allegedly committed a series of house breaking and theft cases in low-density suburbs such as Four Winds, Hillside, Matsheumhlope and Riverside since March 2010.
The property recovered include six plasma flat screen television sets, two laptops, a pair of shoes, a duvet cover and an adapter.
Bulawayo police acting spokesperson Assistant Inspector Precious Simango confirmed the arrest  on Tuesday and said investigations were in progress.
“The suspect was arrested after police received a tip-off from residents and raided his home. He has been breaking and stealing from houses since March 2010.
“We are optimistic that we will recover more goods as investigations are in progress,” said Asst Insp Simango.
She said Mkeonyane would poison dogs at some houses and cut off padlocks before breaking into the houses and stealing gadgets.
“The first incident happened on 29 March 2010 where he cut a padlock of the main door of a          house in Matsheumhlope. He stole a 32-inch Akira colour television set and a pair of shoes and went away.
“On the second incident, which occurred on 27 April last year, he stole a 40 inch plasma television set, a cellphone and a cooler box all valued at                 $1 850,” said Asst Insp Simango.
She said the accused also broke into a house of a 71-year-old woman in Four Winds on 31 October again last year and stole a cellphone and goods before treating himself to beer that he found in the house.
“We are still investigating this case and we believe that the investigations will lead to the discovery of other goods. We are appealing to members of the public who lost property through theft to come and help identify the recovered property at Hillside Police Station,” said Asst Insp Simango.
She said the man appeared in court on Monday and was remanded in custody.
