AT least 105 buyers and 27 international media houses have confirmed participation at the upcoming Sanganai/Hlanganani Tourism Expo, Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) chief operating officer Givemore Chidzidzi has said.
In an interview Chidzidzi said this year’s edition is more of a business-to-business expo.
“To date, 105 buyers and 27 international media houses have confirmed participation. Over the years, the exhibition grew so big such that enabler sectors outnumbered direct tourism operators at the fair hence the travel fair being re-positioned to a more business-to-business focused exhibition,” he said.
The first two days of the fair are trade days while the last day is open to the public. Chidzidzi also said an online booking system had been launched for Sanganai/Hlanganani 2015.
“The digital system allows buyers and exhibitors to view and select companies they would like to meet, and confirm their meetings before Sanganai kicks off. The booking system is free of charge to all Sanganai exhibitors, buyers and media,” he said.
This year’s Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo will run from the 18th to the 20th of this month after the ZTA moved it from October.
“The new dates have been well accepted by our buyers, exhibitors and international. This positive response by our buyers is proof that Zimbabwe is a critical destination for all markets promoting Africa,” said Chidzidzi. — BH24.
