11 Covid-19 deaths recorded in 24 hours, recovery rate at 80 percent

ELEVEN people in the country succumbed to Covid-19 on Tuesday, bringing the total number of deaths from the virus to 166.

A total 126 new cases were recorded, with 116 of those due to local transmission. Eight were from South Africa and two from South Africa, the Ministry of Health and Child Care announced in its daily Covid-19 update.

After dipping below 1000 on Monday and Tuesday, the number of active cases now stands at 1069.

“10 deaths are from Harare and one is from Mash West. 11 total new reported and the national recovery rate stands at 80 percent,” The Ministry of Health and Child Care noted.

Zimbabwe has thus far recorded 6196 cases with 4961 recoveries.
