THE Nations 12 Apostolic Nazareth Church in Zion netball team was crowned the champions of the third Zion Youth Ministry Games held at Tshabalala in Bulawayo on Monday.
The church has been having annual competitions as part of their promotion of wellness and camaradarie.
Monday’s participants were drawn from Bulawayo and Gwanda.
Winners beat Church of Christ 18-14 in a final game that showcased raw talent, strict standards with emotions on the edge.
“It was such a tough game but we are so happy we won, it came as a surprise we did not expect because of the toughness,” said one of the players Pilalelo Mpofu.
To qualify for the final, 12 Nations team played against UACCZ and beat them 17-6 in the semi-finals.
On the other hand, Church of Christ had battled with Amazing Grace of God in the in the semi-finals and beat them 12-6 to qualify for the final.
The acting president of the organisation Ayanda Dumani praised the participants for sportsmanship.
