12 vehicles reduced to ashes at VTS Southerton

A massive fire destroyed at least 12 vehicles at the Southerton Vehicle Theft Squad yard this afternoon.


The fire is suspected to have been caused by an electrical fault. The inferno, which is believed to have originated from an electricity pylon, has since been brought under control.

However, firefighters are continuing to work to fully extinguish the flames and prevent any further damage.

National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident, which is currently being investigated.
