2 maids, chef up for US$13k theft

Two house maids and a chef yesterday appeared in court on allegations of stealing US$5 000, two tablets and clothes worth US$8 000 at a house where they are employed.

Colleta Chidzama (37) and Netsai Kachembere (45) and Wilfred Ngoma (47) who was employed as a chef appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Dennis Mangosi charged with theft from their employer Ms Maureen Mashamba and were remanded in custody to May 14.

They admitted to stealing the money and property. Prosecutor Mr Rufaro Chonzi alleged that from November last year to April 24, the three stole cash amounting to US$5 000, two 64 gigabyte tablet phones and clothes worth US$6 885 on several occasions.
