Two men who allegedly fatally stabbed a security guard last month while trying to steal from a bar in Glen Norah faced murder charges yesterday when they appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Dennis Mangosi who remanded them in custody to January 23.

Prosecutor Mr Rufaro Chonzi alleged that on December 7 last year at around 3.30am Gilbert Muchokomori (38) and Talent Shangwa (18) and their accomplice, who is still at large, went to Chitubu Council Bar, Glen Norah, Harare armed with knives.

On arrival, they entered the premises and confronted the guard demanding valuables, but he resisted them.

The gang stabbed him once in the back and twice on the head and ran away after stealing some items.

The guard screamed for help and started vomiting blood and was helped by Natashe Martin Phiri who was sleeping at the front of the beerhall and who sought transport to ferry the guard to hospital where he was pronounced dead on                                          arrival.

Investigations led to the arrest of Shangwa who implicated Muchokomori who was also arrested.
